First Macedonian War

The First Macedonian War (215 BC - 205 BC) was fought by Rome, allied with the Aetolian League, against Philip V of Macedon contemporaneously with the Second Punic War. There were no decisive engagements, and the war ended in a stalemate.

Philip supported Hannibal of Carthage, but previously had been seen by the Romans as an ally. During the war Macedon attempted to gain control over parts of Illyria and Greece, but without success.
