In general, the adjective fine is a synonym for the adjective "good", although it can be used to mean anything from "acceptable" to "excellent".
In some countries (e.g. United Kingdom, Australia), "fine" is used to describe the weather as being good, with a nearly-clear sky. (In some other countries, "fair" is used instead.) In particular, it is generally used instead of "sunny" (day) or "clear" (night), to denote that there are high and thin cirrus clouds, but otherwise no obstruction of the sky.
"Fine" can also refer to a good-looking person (cf fit).
"Fine" or "finely" is also an antonym for "coarse" or "coarsely", as in finely-ground flour or cornmeal. It may also mean high-quality, as with a fine wine.
