Fighter (D&D)

The Fighter class in Dungeons & Dragons is a versatile, weapons-oriented warrior class. Unlike the Barbarian class, which relies on unbridled rage, however, the fighter is a skilled warrior who fights using strategy and tactics.

Fighter was one of the seven classes in the original D&D game, then called "Fighting Man" (the other six were Magic User, Thief, Cleric, Dwarf, Elf and Halfling). In the anime Lodoss to Senki (Record of Lodoss War), the character Parn is a Fighter who later becomes a Paladin.

In the 3rd edition of the D&D game, Fighters get "Feats" in all but six levels (5th, 7th, 11th, 13th, 17th and 19th), and two feats at levels six, twelve and eighteen, totaling 18 feats at 20th level (the highest level in the basic D&D game); 19 if the character in question is a human (humans gain an additional feat and more skill points as their racial features).
