The Fiat Multipla is a car manufacutured by Fiat. Based on the Brava, Fiat's offering in this size of car was quite unlike any other on the market. It had six seats, three on two benches. The exterior of the Multipla was noted for being unsual among other vehicles.

The 1.6 petrol and 1.9 turbo-diesel engines gave the Multipla good levels of performance and refinement, and the chassis ensured entertaining ride and handling.

Multipla sales began in Italy late in 1998 but most other markets had to wait a year before getting imports. The power of the Fiat badge meant that the Multipla was an instant hit with Italian buyers, but its styling meant that sales elsewhere were less successful.

Six years after its launch, the Fiat Multipla is about to undergo a major facelift in which it will shed its bizzare looks for a more restrained look which will hopefully attract more buyers.

The orginal FIAT mulipla, the 600 Multipla was based on the Fiat 600 drivetrain and sat 6 people in about the same footprint as the original mini cooper. It was produced from 1956 to 1965.
