Federico Mena Quintero is a mexican computer programmer who wrote the GNOME Canvas while working at Red Hat. He also maintained The GIMP for a while and currently works at Ximian. Along with Miguel de Icaza, Federico founded the GNOME project.
He attended Mexico's National University, where he met de Icaza, to study computer science; he left from there to work in the USA.
