Eugene Sawyer (born: September 3, 1934) served as mayor of Chicago, Illinois (1987-1989) for the Democratic Party.
Sawyer was aelected by the Chicago City Council to fill out the term of Harold Washington. His inauguration occured in the parking lot of a closed restaurant at 4:00 AM on December 2, 1987.
