Eros is an operating system developed by the University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins University.

EROS means "Extremely Reliable Operating System". This OS is a small, secure, real-time, and has automatic data persistence.

This OS has some very interesting features, but is mostly used as a research project (unknown real world usage). It has automatic data persistence, real-time support, it is Posix compatible, and has a Capability security scheme.
