Environmental science

science of the physical, chemical, and biological conditions of the environment and the effect of this on organisms.

It is an interdisciplinary science that relies heavily on the natural sciences. It uses physics to study energy transfers in order to reduce pollution. It uses chemistry to deal with the chemical processes of substances involved in all production lines. Environmental science also relies on biology, ecology in particular. The social sciences and economics are also major contributors to the field in that humans and their natural environment are interconnected in multiple ways.
