Endymion

• In Greek mythology, Endymion was a handsome shepherd (or, more rarely, a king or a hunter) from Asia Minor.
• Endymion is also a play by John Lyly.
• Endymion is also the title of poems by John Keats and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
• Endymion is also the name of a New Orleans Mardi Gras krewe; see: Krewe of Endymion.
• Endymion is also the name of a Dan Simmons science fiction novel, the third in the Hyperion Cantos, as well as the title of a novel by Benjamin Disraeli.
• Endymion is also the name of the main male character in the anime Sailor Moon. He is the "Protector of the Earth" (Mamoru Chiba) and he falls in love with the "Moon Princess" (Tsukino Usagi, called "Serena" in English)
• Endymion is also the name of a crater on the Moon. In the anime Gundam Seed, a battle in this crater gave rise to "The Hawk of Endymion," the nickname of Mu La Flaga, one of the heroes of the series.
