Emperor Ankō (安康天皇) was the 20th imperial ruler of Japan. No firm dates can be assigned to this emperor or to his reign, but he is believed to have ruled the country during the mid-5th century CE.
According to Kojiki and Nihonshoki Anko was the second son of Ingyo and the empress. His elder brother Kinashikaru-no-miko (Prinz Kinashi-karu) was the crown prince but Kinashikaru was incestuous with his sister who had been born from the same mother and people disliked that Kinashi-karu would become the emperor. Kinashi-karu planed to kill Anko and gathered the troop but everyone supported Anko. Kinashi-karu despaired and commited suicide with his lover and sister.
Anko became the emperor but three years after he was assasinated by Mayowa-no-ookimi (Prince Mayowa), a young member of royal family because he let Mayowa's father kill.
