Elektra Records is a record label started in 1950 by Jac Holzman and fellow student Paul Rickholt, who invested both $300. It was acquired by Kinney National Company in 1970 for $10 million. Jac remains in charge until Asylum Records and Elektra are combined and Asylum's director (David Geffen) is put in charge.
In 1972 Kinney groups it's four record labels under the Warner Communications umbrella.
