In medicine, electrolyte disturbances are elevated or depressed levels of circulating electrolytes.

Specific electrolyte disturbances include:

  1. hypernatraemia and hyponatraemia (sodium)
  2. hyperkalaemia and hypokalaemia (potassium)
  3. hypercalcaemia and hypocalcaemia (calcium)
  4. hyperphosphataemia and hypophosphataemia (phosphate)
  5. hypermagnesaemia and hypomagnesaemia (magnesium)
