Electrical power grid

Description of an electrical power grid

Electrical power is generated in many locations and created by various technologies in the form of alternating current. This power is commonly delivered to homes and businesses through an electrical distribution system. When the power is needed, the various suppliers or utilities may have more or less than they need. The individual supplier distribution systems are interconncected into an electrical power grid so that power can be bought and resold by the participating utilities to meet the demands of their customers.
