Eidsvoll



         


The municipality Eidsvoll in the county of Akershus, Norway, covers 456 km² and has 18,035 inhabitants as of January 1, 2002. Main villages are Eidsvoll and Råholt. Eidsvoll was the site where the first Norwegian Constitution was signed on May 17th 1814. The building in which the meetings were held is today a famous museum.
