EditPad is a powerful text editor that is available for Windows and Linux. It was developed by Jan Gonvaerts. The program's name is apparently a play on the well-known Notepad text editor. EditPad provides much functionality that makes it appealing for developers, including ability to open files of arbitrary size, syntax highlighting for any programming language (subject to writing a config file if needed), and regular expressions support for search and replace. It is available in the lite version for free (with regular expressions disabled, without spell checker and a number of other tools), and the full pro version. An extensive description of the functionality of both versions is available on EditPad's website.
