Eclectic



         


Eclectic (from gr. eklektikos, choosing the best). Often used in a somewhat negative sense about theories using parts from different theories. An example of an eclectic theory is John Dunning's eclectic theory of international production. Note however that eclectic is used in a neutral sense here.
