Ealhswith



         


Ealhswith of the Gaini was born c. 852 in Gaini, Mercia. Her mother was Eadburga Saxe-Mercia, her father was Aethelred of Mercia , Ealdorman of the Gaini Mucil.

She married on 868, to Alfred the Great.

She died on December 5, 905, and is buried in St. Mary's Abbey, Winchester, Dorset.
