Dundas Street, also known as Highway 5, is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a major arterial street in Toronto and a forms the intersection of Yonge and Dundas, where the city's main central square is located, Dundas Square.
Dundas Street is located central to downtown, approximately midway between Queen Street and Bloor Street. The introduction of Dundas Square has also caused the migration of some of the arts and culture that was traditionally on Queen Street West, and on Bloor Street, toward a point midway between them.
Dundas street is also home of the Art Gallery of Ontario, which takes a full city block on the south side of the street. Dundas Street is also home of other galleries, including Bau Xi Gallery.
Dundas street goes all the way to Etobicoke, then Missisauga, and eventually as highway 5, across Ontario.
Dundas Street is divided between Dundas Street East and Dundas Street West by []Yonge Street]] which also serves as the east/west dividing line for many other streets in Toronto.
There are also streetcars that run along Dundas Street, on two parallel pairs of tracks, one pair of tracks on each side of the road. There are two 600 volt D.C. overhead cables that supply the electricity to the streetcars that run north and south on the street. The streetcar goes to High Park, home of an outdoor bathing complex that includes a splash pad.
