Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team
The Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team is the new name of the US Postal Service cycling team, featuring Lance Armstrong. On June 15 2004, the Discovery Channel became a sponsor of the team for the remainder of the 2004 season. In 2005, they will become the main sponsor, and the team will be renamed. As part of the deal Armstrong will provide on-air appearances for the Discovery Channel. The sponsorship deal will last for three years.
The deal is not expected to affect OLN's rights to air major cycling events such as the Tour de France, despite the fact that the two channels are competitors.
