Diddy Kong Racing

Diddy Kong Racing is a racing game for the Nintendo 64 developed by Rareware. It was relased in 1997.

Similar in nature to Mario Kart, the game features characters from Rare games, some of which had yet to be released. Diddy Kong racing was partially intended to help introduce some of Rare's intended franchise characters at an early time, so gamers would recognize them when they appeared in future titles later on.

The re-occuring characters were:

• Diddy Kong from the Donkey Kong Country series
• Banjo the Bear from the Banjo Kazooie series (released 1998)
• Krunch the Kremling from Donkey Kong 64 (released 1999)
• Tip-Tup the Turtle from the Banjo Kazooie series (released 1998)
• Conker the Squirrel from Conker's Bad Fur Day (released 2001)

The other characters were:

• Drumstick the Chicken
• Bumper the Badger
• Timber the Tiger
• Pipsy the Mouse
• T.T. the stopwatch

None of these four have appeared in any other Rare games to date.

The plot of the game centered around an evil pig wizard named Wizpig who had cast a spell on a peaceful island
