Dave Broadfoot is a Canadian comedian who was born on December 5, 1925 in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In 1943, he joined the merchant navy serving until 1947. He gained experience for a professional career in theater by working community theater, eventually gravitating towards comedy
For ten years he was a writer and performer in the influential stage revue, Spring Thaw. From 1973 to 1993 he was a member of the radio version of Royal Canadian Air Farce.
In addition to his traditional stand-up routines, Broadfoot has created a number of characters such as:
Broadfoot starred in XPM and is a recurring guest on Royal Canadian Air Farce.
Dave Broadfoot has received several ACTRA and Juno awards and is a member of the Order of Canada. He is the author of an autobiography, Old Enough to Say What I Want.
