The Czech national football team has been controlled by the Czech Football Association, now known as The Football Association of the Czech Republic (Czech: Českomoravský Fotbalový Svaz), since 1901. From 1922 to 1993, during the existence of Czechoslovakia, the association was known as the Czechoslovak Football Association, and controlled the Czechoslovakia national football team. In the Czechoslovak period the national team achieved its best results so far, including two runner-up finishes in World Cups and a European Championship win. After the partition of Czechoslovakia, the association took its current name.
