Curonian Lagoon



         


Bay, Gulf) is sundered from the Baltic Sea by the Curonian Spit and belongs to Lithuania and Russia. The Neman River flows into the Curonian Lagoon. The lagoon itself is cut off from the Baltic Sea by the Curonian Spit. At the northern end of the spit, there is a passage where the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda (German Memel is situated. It was part of the ancient ancestral lands of the Curonians and Prussians.
