Crispin Hellion Glover (born April 20 or September 20 1964) is an American actor. His father, Bruce Glover, was a character actor best remembered for playing the offbeat S.P.E.C.T.R.E. assassin Mr. Wint in the James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever.
Glover played George McFly in Back to the Future. He was one of the few actors who did not return for the sequels. He also played Andy Warhol in The Doors (1991), the title character in Willard (2003), and the 'Thin Man' in the new Charlie's Angels films.
He made his directorial debut with What Is It? (2000). It is a strange film that took him about 5 years to finish. The majority of actors in the film have Down syndrome.
Glover is also a musician and a poet. He released an album called The Big Problem Does Not Equal the Solution. The Solution = Let It Be (1989) through Restless Records. The album features Clowny Clown Clown (which has its own music video), a cover of Nancy Sinatra's These Boots Are Made for Walkin', and readings of his poetry, including: Rat Catching (Glover modified an old book by adding or deleting pictures, text, and drawings), Oak-Mot, What It Is & How It Is Done (a man's life told in first, second and third person).
The general opinion is that he is bizarre, macabre, eccentric and funny. For example, he celebrates his birthday twice a year (April and September 20th); however, according to the IMDb, his actual birthday is April 20. He is known for being gifted mentally and is often called a genius.
