History

The "Alabama Crimson Tide" refers to the football team of the University of Alabama. Started in 1892, the Crimson Tide has one of the oldest and proudest football traditions. They have won:

12 national championships, 21 SEC (Southeastern Conference) titles, have been in 51 bowl games (29 wins, 19 losses, and 3 ties), have 17 hall-of-famers, and 91 All-Americans honored 101 times.

National Championship Years

1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992. These are the years the NCAA Official record book recognizes the Tide as being the national champion. There are also 5 additional years in which the Crimson Tide is recognized as being the national champion. These years are: 1945, 1962, 1966, 1975, and 1977.
