The Crimson Ghost was a television serial (1946) about a hooded villain's plot to steal a death ray device known as the cyclotrode. It was released as an edited feature length film and retitled Cyclotrode. Another version was made in 1966 and renamed Cyclotrode X.
The punk rock band The Misfits use The Crimson Ghost as a type of band mascot.
