Crest is the name of a very popular toothpaste which is now on the market in many countries, such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and France. It is made by Procter and Gamble. Its active ingredient is fluoride.
Crest is endorsed by the American Dental Association (ADA) as an "effective decay-preventive dentifrice that can be of significant value".
It was first introduced in 1955, as the first toothpaste clinically proven to help prevent cavities and tooth decay. A new formula was released in 1981.
The Crest brand covers over twenty brands of toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, and dental floss. They also have a teeth-whitening product called Crest Whitestrips.
