In Roman mythology, Corus was the personification of the northwest wind.
Corus is also the name for merger of the Dutch steel and aluminium producer Koninklijke Hoogovens with British Steel. It is the sponsor of the prestigious Corus chess tournament in the Netherlands.
Corus Entertainment is also Canadian entertainment company which owns television networks, digital music channels and radio stations.
