Conference South
Conference South (often referred to as Nationwide South for sponsorship reasons) is a new division of the Football Conference in England, taking its place immediately below the Conference National. Along with Conference North it is at the second level of the National League System, and at the sixth tier overall of the English football league system.
Play commences with the 2004/05 season with the following teams provisionally announced May 9, 2004:
- Basingstoke Town F.C.
- Bishop's Stortford F.C.
- Bognor Regis Town F.C.
- Cambridge City F.C.
- Carshalton Athletic F.C.
- Dorchester Town F.C.
- Eastbourne Borough F.C.
- Ford United F.C. (to become Redbridge F.C. in July 2004)
- Grays Athletic F.C.
- Havant & Waterlooville F.C.
- Hayes F.C.
- Hornchurch F.C.
- Lewes F.C.
- Maidenhead United F.C.
- Margate F.C.
- Newport County A.F.C.
- St. Albans City F.C.
- Sutton United F.C.
- Thurrock F.C.
- Welling United F.C.
- Weston Super Mare F.C.
- Weymouth F.C.
