Comics Buyer's Guide (CBG) is one of the longest-running periodicals reporting on the comic book industry. Founded in the 1970s primarily as an advertising venue by Alan Light, it was bought in the early 1980s by collectibles publisher Krause Publications and has been since edited by Don and Maggie Thompson.
For most of its history CBG has been published weekly in a tabloid newspaper format. In May 2004 the editors announced that the publication would be switching to a monthly magazine format.
CBG has at times been noted for its lively letter column, as well as columns by Peter David, Tony Isabella, Mark Evanier and others.
