Coat of Arms of Bermuda

The Coat of Arms of Bermuda show a red lion holding a shield that has a depiction of a sinking ship upon it. The red lion is a symbol for the United Kingdom and alludes to Bermuda's relationship with that nation. The sinking ship is a depiction of the sinking of the Sea Venture off the coast of Bermuda in 1609. That ship was the first British ship to visit Bermuda.

The coat of arms is featured on the national flag as well.
