Clodius Albinus



         


Clodius Albinus (died February 19, 197) was proclaimed Roman Emperor upon the murder of Pertinax by the legions in Britain and Spain. He held the title from AD 193 until his death in the Battle of Lugdunum against the army of Septimius Severus.


Another Clodius Albinus was procurator in the Roman province of Judea in AD 62, immediately after the death of James the Just.
