Claymation



         


Claymation is a moviemaking technique created by taking pictures of a clay object. In each picture (frame), the clay object is slightly moved. When the frames are played in succession at a frame rate greater than 16 frames per second, a fairly convincing illusion of smooth movement is created.

A technique similar to claymation is employed in the East-German children's show, Sandmännchen.
