The City of Melbourne is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the central city area of Melbourne. It has an area of 36.0 square kilometres. In 2001 it had a population of 46,000.
The current Lord Mayor of the City is John So. The city council holds office in the Melbourne Town Hall.
