Ciboney



         


Ciboney is a word derived from the Caribbean Indian Language. The first part is Cibo (precious stone) and ney (people). People of the precious stone or brilliance (pearl). The island of Cuba is also known as the pearl of the Antilles. Today there are 253 families of Ciboney ancestry living in Florida. Ciboney love fishing, open skies, and the great mighty sea.
