In Greek mythology, Chrysippus was a divine hero, a young boy, bastard son of Pelops and the nymph Axioche. He was kidnapped by Laius, his tutor, who forced him to be his lover (crime for which he, his city and his family were later punished by the gods). He was killed by Thyestes and Atreus, his step-brothers, who feared he would be the one to inherit their father's throne.
