Stanley Kubrick died before filming on his last project, A.I. (movie), began and was interred at his home, Childwickbury Manor, Hertfordshire, England.
Previous owners were Henry Hayman Toulmin, a wealthy ship owner and High Sheriff of Hertfordshire and mayor of St. Albans, who bought the estate from Joshua Lomax in 1854 and sold it to Sir John Blundell Maple around 20 years later.
