Chernihiv (Чернігівська область, Chernihivs’ka oblast’ in Ukrainian) is an oblast' (region) of northern Ukraine. Its capital is Chernihiv.
The area of the region is 32000 km², its population (as of 2003-01-01) is 1.2 million people.
