Alfred Charles Tomlinson (born January 8 1927) is a British poet, academic and translator. He was born in Stoke-on-Trent, and read English at Queens' College, Cambridge. He later held positions at the University of Bristol. Skywriting (2004) is his latest collection.
He edited the Oxford Book of Verse in English Translation and the Selected Poems of William Carlos Williams
