Chansey (Lucky in Japanese) is one of the original 151 Pokémon and is obtainable in every game except Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Chansey's original Pokémon number is #113. In Pokémon Gold and Silver, it evolves to Blissey once it becomes sufficiently happy.
Chansey is a kawaii pink blob, reminiscent of many other such Normal type Pokémon as Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Clefairy, Clefable and Ditto. This one has many flabs of flesh along its side. It has a marsupial-like pouch in which it always keeps a Pokémon egg. Because of their healing powers, Chanseys in the Pokémon television series are always seen in Pokémon Centers aiding the Nurse Joy there.
Chansey is notable for having the highest HP of all the first 250 Pokemon (except Blissey); however, it also holds the spot for lowest Attack and Defense.
Chansey is a deliberate misspelling of "chancy," referring to the popular belief that this Pokémon brings luck to its owner.
