Changeling (DC Comics)

Changeling (real name Garfield Logan) is a shape-shifting superhero in the DC Comics universe.

As a child he came down with a rare illness and was cured by a serum from a green monkey. This serum turned his skin and hair green and gave him the ability to change into any animal, although his colouring remains green.

Originally known as Beast Boy, he was adopted by Elasti-Girl and Mento of the Doom Patrol. He later joined the West Coast team of the Teen Titans, and was part of the New Teen Titans assembled by Raven. It was at this time that he took the name Changeling. He remained with various iterations of the team, forming a close friendship with Cyborg.

He later began using the Beast Boy name again, under which he got his own mini-series Beast Boy. Following a failed attempt to recreate "Titans West" as "Titans LA", he has rejoined the main team.

He has also worked as an actor, playing the role of an alien in the TV series Space Trek 2022 (which, even in the fictional setting, was a thinly disguised pastiche of Star Trek and Space: 1999, and was cancelled following threats of legal action on the grounds of plagiarism).

Changeling (Marvel Comics)

The Changeling (real name unknown) is a comic book supervillain in the Marvel Comics universe. He was initially a nemesis of the X-Men, and first appeared in X-Men #35 (1967).

Changeling is a mutant with the ability to alter his physical appearance at will to resemble that of any person he chooses. He also has limited telepathic abilities.

The Changeling originally worked for the villainous organization Factor Three. Following that group's defeat, he reformed and, unbeknownst to the X-Men, was recruited by Professor X to replace him while he isolated himself to prepare for his fight against the Z'Nox. The Changeling was killed in battle shortly after this, although it was a long time before the X-Men learnt it had not been the Professor who had died. However, in alternate continuities, the character of Changeling has appeared as Morph.
