The Cessna 182, also called the Skylane, is a 4 seater single engine light aircraft. The 182 is the second most popular model of Cessna after the 172. Several variants of the plane have been offered over the years.

History

The Cessna 182 was introduced in 1956 as a tricycle gear variant of the 180. In 1957, the name was changed to the 182A and the name Skylane was introduced. Later models have added more powerful engines and bigger windows.

Cessna 182's were also built in Argentina by DINFIA (designated A182) and by Reims Aviation, France, as F182s.
