Casa Rosada



         


The Casa Rosada ("Pink House") has been, since the foundation of the city of Buenos Aires, where the top political institutions of Argentina were located. It stands next to the Plaza de Mayo. The building is painted a light pink color (and a darker pink color on the side facing the plaza, due to a recent repainting). The original paint was said to have contained cow blood to prevent damage from humidity.
