Captain Olimar is the main character in both Pikmin games. He hails from the planet Hocotate, and is one of the most well-known spacemen on the planet. He is about the size of a quarter or a fifty pence piece. He doesn't breathe oxygen and likes food called "pikpik carrots," which include onions and small red, blue, and yellow carrots.
In Pikmin, his spaceship crash-lands onto a planet because of a meteorite. He enlists the help of the Pikmin on the planet to help him survive and collect parts for his spaceship.
In Pikmin 2, Olimar and his assistant, Louie, travel to the planet to find various treasures.
A trophy of Captain Olimar is available in Super Smash Bros. Melee, but only if you have a saved Pikmin game on your memory card.
