The Canadian Hockey Association was founded in 1909 as the top hockey league, replacing the Eastern Canada Amateur Hockey Association. The league folded in January 1910 without concluding the championship and was then amalgamated into the National Hockey Association for the 1910-11 season. The five teams which took part in the league were All-Montreal HC, Montreal Nationals, Montreal Shamrocks, Ottawa Senators and Quebec Bulldogs.
