Campbell River, British Columbia



         


Campbell River District Municipality in British Columbia at the south end of Discovery Passage in northern Vancouver Island. Population (2001 census) 28,456. The people of Campbell River rely on the forestry industry, the mining industry and the fishing industry. It is arguably the salmon capital of the world with the other contender being nearby Port Alberni. It is known for its sport fishing and many tourists come to fish.
