But I'm A Cheerleader

But I'm a Cheerleader is a 1999 comedy film about a high school cheerleader, Megan Bloomfield, who is sent to a reparative therapy camp to become a heterosexual after her friends and family have an "intervention" and tell her she's a lesbian (a fact she realizes and comes to terms with at the camp).

Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.

During the film, various activities and therapies are employed to try to change the characters, both male and female, into heterosexuals. During the process, Bloomfield and another attendee, Graham Eaton, fall in love. At the end of the film at graduation, Bloomfield comes back to the camp (having been kicked out) and does a cheer expressing her love for Eaton.

But I'm a Cheerleader holds a critical view of the use of reparative therapy and of the idea that homosexuality is a disorder and that it can be changed.
