Burusera

Burusera shops in Japan sell used girl panties. They also sell other types of clothes, such as school uniforms. The clothes are often accompanies by genuine photos of the girls wearing them. The clients are Japanese men that smell the panties for sexual stimulation. In the past there were vending machines selling packaged used panties.

The price for a pair of panties can be around 5,000-10,000 yen (50-100 US dollars).

Many underage schoolgirls participate in sale of their used panties, either through burusera shops or using mobile phone sites to sell directly to clients. In 2004 some underage girls (called kagaseya or sniffers) had to stop selling their panties for legal reasons and had to either let their clients sniff between their legs while they are still wearing the panties. Others chose to give away their dirty panties to accompany the photos they are now selling.

The panties fetish is not unique to Japan, but only there was it institutionalised to such degree.
