Boise State University
Boise State University is a state university located in downtown Boise, the capital city of Idaho. The school's athletic teams are called the Broncos. Over 18,000 full and part-time students enroll annually. Approximately 200 degrees are offered from Technical certificates to Doctorates. It is regionally accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
History
- 1932 Founded as Boise Junior College by the Episcopal Church.
- President: Bishop Middleton Barnwell.
- 1934 Episcopal Church ends affiliation and board of directors after assumes leadership.
- President: Dr. Eugene Chaffee.
- 1940 Campus moved from original location at St. Margaret?s Hall to present site.
- 1965 Baccalaureate degrees introduced to became Boise College.
- 1967 President Dr. John Barnes.
- The Alumni Association is formed.
- 1969 State system of higher education takes over and named changed to Boise State College.
- 1974 Named changed again to Boise State University.
- 1978 President: Dr. John Keiser.
- April 7, 1984 The Velma V. Morrison Center opened its doors.
- 1993 President: Dr. Charles Ruch.
- 2002 President: Ruch announces he will step down when his replacement is found during his State of the University address.
- 2003 President: Dr. Robert Kustra.

Facilities
The 153-acre main campus is located in downtown Boise, on the Boise River. There are 60 buildings on the main campus. These buildings include the Bronco Stadium (capacity 30,000), the Pavilion (12,000), and the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts (2,000).
Recently the Canyon County Center in Nampa began operations. This satellite campus facility specializes in applied technology programs as well as some academic and non-credit courses. Additional education centers can be found at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Gowen Field and Twin Falls.
Broadcast
BSU Radio is broadcast from the Boise State campus. Stations include NPRNews91, KBSU, KBSW and Idaho's Jazz Station.
