Bill of Rights Defense Committee

The National Bill of Rights Defense Committee (BORDC) encourages local communities to take an active role in an ongoing national debate about antiterrorism measures that threaten civil liberties guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, such as the USA PATRIOT Act. There are local Bill of Rights Defense Committees being created all over the United States.

The BORDC provides up-to-date information and tools to strengthen education and discussion, as well as documenting and providing resources, technical assistance, and organizing strategies that communities can use to help protect civil liberties guaranteed by the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution.

Many of these local efforts are in response to the USA PATRIOT Act and other legislation passed since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
